Tatung University has received funding from the National Science Council's "Dragon Gate Program" for three doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers to conduct research and exchange at Warsaw University of Technology. Associate Professor Yuh-Jing Chiou of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, who applied for the project, said that Warsaw University of Technology is the best university in Poland and that in addition to enhancing academic energy, it "also provides students with a different environment and learning opportunities." Our university is the school that has received the most funding for two years among private universities.

      The three researchers who went to Warsaw University of Technology for research are doctoral students Cheng-Jung Tsou and Pin-Hsuan Chen, as well as postdoctoral researcher Hsu-Hsiang Tsai. They received funding ranging from NT$900,000 to NT$1.3 million for their research project on "Development and Characterization of Energy Composite Materials," which will focus on fuel cell-related issues. It is expected that 1-2 academic papers will be produced each year. The three doctoral students' supervising professor in the laboratory (Department of Chemical Engineering) at Warsaw University of Technology is Marta Mazurkiewicz-Pawlicka, a good friend of Dr. Yuh-Jing Chiou in academic exchange for many years.

      The friendship between Tatung University and Warsaw University of Technology is deep and long-lasting, "It should have started from the last century!" Honorary Professor Hong-Ming Lin of the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering met a professor at Warsaw University of Technology by chance many years ago at a seminar and exchanged academic ideas, which laid the foundation for the exchange between the two universities. Dr. Yuh-Jing Chiou has also visited Poland many times due to her research project, "From being unfamiliar with the place to being as familiar as at home," seeking advice from each other and exchanging ideas, and the friendly relationship has continued for more than 20 years."

      According to Dr. Chiou, the two best universities in the Polish capital are Warsaw University of Technology and the University of Warsaw (which does not have a science and engineering department). She believes that students at Tatung University and Warsaw University of Technology both value "practical ability" and "theoretical foundation," and that collaboration between the two will greatly enhance the students' abilities. She looks forward to more opportunities for exchange between the faculty and students of the two universities in the future.
