Professor Georg Hauer, Vice Dean of the School of Management at the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences in Germany, recently visited our university. After a three-year absence from the Tatung University due to the pandemic, he was delighted to meet with President Ming-Guo Her. The "Global Business Management Case Studies" course taught by Prof. Georg in Department of Business Management, will resume physical teaching.
Our university has signed a dual-degree program with the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences, where students spend one year at our university and one year in Germany, obtaining two master's degrees from both universities. There have been close exchanges between the two universities for many years. This semester, five dual-degree students are exchanging and writing theses at our university. In addition to visiting German students, Prof. Georg Hauer also awarded a dual-degree certificate to Hs-Hua Lin, a student from the Department of Business Management who had just returned from an internship in Germany.
Hs-Hua Lin worked hard to get to Germany over two years ago when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out. After successfully completing her studies, she extended her stay to do an internship in Germany, fulfilling her dream of studying and working in Germany. The Chair of the Department of Business Management, Dr. Chia-Chi Wang, encourages students to take the opportunity to study abroad and exchange as global exchange resumes. This summer, four master's students from our university will participate in the dual-degree exchange program in Germany.
In addition to student exchanges, Prof. Patrick S. Chen from the Department of Information and Management, and Assistant Professor Dr. Te-Yi Lin from the Department of Business Management were invited to teach courses such as Electronic Commerce, Change Management, and Intercultural Business Skills at the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences, receiving excellent evaluations from students. Our university's Dean of International Affairs, Dr. Hon-hung Liu, Han-Hsiung Liao, Dean of the College of Management, Dr. Yu-Cheng Kao and Prof. Georg Hauer expressed their hope for more students to participate in the dual-degree program in the future to enhance exchanges between the two universities.
