🎓 Tatung University Scholarship for International Students

📌 Eligibility & General Regulations

  • Eligible Applicants: International students enrolled in undergraduate, master's, or doctoral programs pursuant to the Ministry of Education Regulations. (Excludes exchange students. Dual-degree students shall follow their respective educational cooperation agreements.)
  • Maximum Award Duration: Calculated from the initial enrollment term—Up to 4 academic years for Undergraduate, up to 2 academic years for Master's, and up to 3 academic years for Ph.D.
  • Restrictions: Students receiving scholarships awarded by Taiwan government agencies are ineligible for this scholarship.
  • Student Obligations: Scholarship recipients are required to assist the university in international affairs programs or events.

📝 Application Method & Process  ( Current Students Only- No Applicable to Freshmen)

⚠️  Incoming/first-semester freshmen students do NOT need to apply. Freshmen scholarships are automatically reviewed upon admission/registration.

Students are required to apply online directly through the website. OIA will not send individual email reminders.

Please check the official announcements on the OIA website and complete the online application within the specified period.

📅 Timeline & Application Portal:
  1. Announcement & Period: Announced on the OIA website every year in mid-July (open for approximately 10–14 days).
  2. Application Portal: Submit your application via the Online Scholarship Application System .
  3. Required Documents:
    • Application Form
    • Official Chinese transcript for the full academic year (Apply only after the previous academic year's grades are finalized)
    • One letter of recommendation from an advisor (uploaded or emailed directly by the advisor to mandyliu@gm.ttu.edu.tw)
    • Proof of journal paper publication (Ph.D. students only)
⚠️ Important Notice: Late submissions or incomplete document uploads will not be accepted, and applicants will be considered to have forfeited their application.

💰 Scholarship Award Categories & Criteria

Undergraduate Program (Max 4 Academic Years)
Target Students Qualification / Renewal Criteria Award Amount & Remarks
1st Year Freshmen Complete the enrollment and registration procedure. Awarded a scholarship equivalent to 50% of tuition for both semesters of the academic year.
2nd to 4th Year Students Previous semester average academic score of 65+, passed at least 1/2 of total credits, and a conduct grade of 80+. Awarded a scholarship equivalent to 30% of tuition.
*Students placed into higher grade levels upon admission receive 30% tuition waiver upon registration without academic restrictions.
⚠️ Notes: Students taking a leave of absence or extending the study period (over-study years) are ineligible. The award amount includes the "TTU Alumni Donation Scholarship".
Master's Program (Max 2 Academic Years)

Outstanding Scholarship (Type A) Freshmen: Apply via standard international student admission.
2nd Year Students: Previous average academic score of 80+ with no major disciplinary violations.
2nd Semester Renewal: Previous average academic score of 80+ and conduct grade of 80+.
*Must take at least 6 credits per semester in the first academic year.
Full Tuition, Miscellaneous Fee, and On-Campus Housing Fee Waiver
(Excludes insurance, winter/summer housing, and IT/network fees)
Outstanding Scholarship (Type B) Full Tuition and Miscellaneous Fee Waiver
(Excludes housing, insurance, and IT/network fees)
Enrollment Scholarship Current Students: Previous average academic score of 75+ in each semester, and conduct grade of 80+.
2nd Semester Renewal: Previous average academic score of 75+ and conduct grade of 80+.
NT$25,000 per semester.
(Includes TTU Alumni Donation Scholarship)
⚠️ Notes: Recipients of Type A or Type B Outstanding Scholarships cannot concurrently receive the TTU Alumni Donation Scholarship. Students extending their study period are ineligible. Only one of the three scholarships can be awarded.
Ph.D. Program (Max 3 Academic Years)

Elite Scholarship (Type A) Freshmen: Apply via standard international student admission.
2nd Year and Above: Previous average academic score of 80+ in each semester, conduct grade of 80+, and at least 1 paper published in an international conference/journal under TTU affiliation.
2nd Semester Renewal: Previous average academic score of 80+ and conduct grade of 80+.
Full Tuition, Miscellaneous Fee, and On-Campus Housing Fee Waiver, plus a stipend of NT$50,000 per semester provided by the advisor.

Elite Scholarship (Type B) Full Tuition and Miscellaneous Fee Waiver
(Excludes housing, insurance, and IT/network fees)
Enrollment Scholarship • Only available to 1st and 2nd year Ph.D. students.
2nd Year Students: Previous average academic score of 75+ in each semester, and conduct grade of 80+.
NT$30,000 per semester.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1. Do I need to reapply for the scholarship every semester or academic year?
Answer: Yes, depending on your student status and degree program.
Freshmen: Evaluated during the initial admissions application.
Graduate Students (2nd Year and Above): Must reapply at the start of each new academic year upon meeting academic/publication requirements.
2nd Semester Renewal (Same Academic Year): OIA will verify if the previous semester's grades meet the standard (Academic & Conduct: 80+ for Master's/Ph.D. Outstanding and Elite Scholarships; Academic: 75+, Conduct: 80+ for Enrollment Scholarship). Only eligible students may continue receiving the scholarship. OIA will not issue individual notifications to those who do not qualify for renewal; recipients are required to check their status independently.
Q2. What is the maximum duration I can receive the scholarship?
Answer: There are maximum award limits. Starting from initial enrollment, the limit is 4 academic years for Undergraduate, 2 academic years for Master's, and 3 academic years for Ph.D. Students extending study terms are ineligible.
Q3. Can dual-degree students apply for this scholarship?
Answer: Subject to educational cooperation agreements. Dual-degree students admitted under educational agreements shall be governed by their specific agreements.
Q4. Am I eligible if I already hold a Taiwan Government Scholarship?
Answer: No. Students receiving scholarships awarded by Taiwan government agencies cannot concurrently receive this university scholarship.
